Bellcliffe Engineering supplies a range of continuous rotary extrusion miscellaneous components.

The components within the continuous rotary extrusion process will undergo vast amounts of thermal pressure and friction, especially the consumable or wear parts such as abutments, dies and feedplates; these parts are subject to the moving variables within the continuous extrusion, and will wear quicker. However, selecting the correct material and heat treatment for your components during initial design stages can help increase their lifespan. The subsequent manufacturing of tooling will also affect the quality of tooling and how long they can withstand the extreme conditions created by the extrusion process.

At Bellcliffe Engineering, we aim to resolve any issues you’re facing with your machining processes, including continuous rotary extrusion. We provide reliable and trustworthy solutions in the form of bespoke components and machinery, and will manufacture your extrusion components to these same standards.

    Capabilities & Technical Specifications

Bellcliffe Engineering offers free site surveys, and open lines of communication, in order to familiarise ourselves with our customers’ operations and the problems they may be facing. This means deciding material and heat treatments of your extrusion components based on your operations and specifications. We use CMMs, CAD and CAM software, to ensure your components and machinery are built to the highest standards, and fit for purpose.

Bellcliffe Engineering have over 100 years combined experience in this industry, and are able to best advise our customers on how to enhance your machinery. We deliver these services globally.

      FAQs

Continuous rotary extrusion is theoretically an almost ceaseless manufacturing method used to form metal. It works by using friction to guide a metal feedstock into the groove around a circumference of a large rotating wheel. Once the metal has been guided into this groove, it is carried around the wheel until it meets an abutment, which stops the metal feedstock from rotating any further. As heat and pressure builds where the stationary feedstock meets the rotating wheel, which moreover continues to push metal into the abutment, the metal begins to soften. The softened metal can then be squeezed through a die, which extrudes the metal in the desired profile. All the while, more metal is fed onto the wheel to be extruded, ensuring this process - whilst feedstock is applied - is continuous.
